It is an economic question. \u00a0More efficient legal systems are better for everyone. \u00a0Most of us have no idea that there are better systems and more efficient economies than that of the United States of America. \u00a0Our main advantage over the rest of the world is that we are bigger.<\/p>\n
I don’t believe it is a good thing that lawyers, lawmakers, insurance companies, highly regulated industries such as utilities, transportation, construction, and drugs, as well as all government employees and increasingly advertisers, take our money for the greater good. There is very little benefit to the taxpayer and all other citizenry for our government to regulate how much a company then force us to buy from them.<\/p>\n
If the industry is highly regulated then let the government take it over. The only difference is there is no profit for the investors.<\/p>\n
Simply put, it is not good to redistribute taxpayer wealth to lawyers, insurance, and advertisers. \u00a0And if we have one choice for a utility or government required purchase then why call the charade a private business? \u00a0It is not, and investors are the only beneficiaries of the charade.<\/p>\n
Obviously we shouldn’t change our political system and stop giving taxpayer money to lawmakers and other government employees. \u00a0But we can stop lawmakers and other government employees from giving money to advertisers to educate us all about unnecessary and stupid laws. \u00a0If we need to be told it is illegal then it shouldn’t be illegal. Ban taxpayer money to all advertising.<\/p>\n
Cut ties to insurance companies and lawyers. \u00a0Provide paid services for government required insurances and legal services. \u00a0If it is required by the government the government should benefit by providing the service. \u00a0If we are required to buy insurance we should have a government provider as an option. \u00a0Why is it not a tax if it is required?<\/p>\n
We should all be encouraged to learn our legal system, defend ourselves in courtrooms, tested for competency and for our understanding of our system, and not railroaded to prison with nonsensical plea bargains and special deals. \u00a0We need justice in our justice system.<\/p>\n
No one can have a waterslide in their pool because if someone gets hurt it will cost them their livelihood for the rest of their days.\u00a0 A man can’t rent his horse for\u00a0a vacationer to ride for a few hours without a million waivers and a heck of a lot of money.\u00a0We can loan but not rent a car, house, bicycle or computer because if we rent that is income and the government,\u00a0insurance companies, advertisers and the rest have to get their legally purchased\u00a0percentage. We can have sex with anyone over 18 years old unless money changes hands. \u00a0If you sell hotdogs on the street or nuclear devices there are myriad laws and regulations that make it very difficult to profit from simple work..<\/p>\n
We pay for advertising to tell parents about jail time if they don’t sufficiently lock up their liquor or guns or poisons or leave a child in a car. \u00a0Fear of prison is not the reason people treat their children well, and prison sentences will not keep people from killing their children. \u00a0 \u00a0Our zero tolerance laws make it so someone might kill a cop so he doesn’t go back to jail for not wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n
Life is better, the economy is stronger and\u00a0people are happier when the government does not legislate spitting on the sidewalks.\u00a0 Sure it is disgusting, and we can have a law about causing a health hazard, but really!\u00a0 Make our laws reasonable and simple for us all to understand.<\/p>\n
Without a movement like simplifyandrepeal we will continue to see copyright laws demanding $150,000 dollars for every COPY of a photograph or song whether you knew you were a pirate or not.\u00a0 Your Android could hold billions of dollars worth of piracy without you knowing it.\u00a0 That is the American way. This is justified by saying, well, it was not intended to make YOU pay billions of dollars to BMI music publishers but rather as a vague deterrent that will be administered reasonably by a judge.\u00a0 REALLY?\u00a0 I have been sued, and I know better.<\/p>\n
Are we free when we don’t even know what is legal and what isn’t?\u00a0 If\u00a0you own a gun I am sure you know the myriad laws pertaining to that\u00a0ownership.\u00a0 And if you don’t, you know that ignorance of the law is no excuse.\u00a0 \u00a0In Connecticut, for example, if you rob a liquor store with a gun you are charged with that crime in addition to being charged with robbing, armed robbing, robbing a business, and who knows what else.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 It is the American way.\u00a0 Everything is legal unless there is a law against it.\u00a0 That is freedom.\u00a0 The problem is there is a law against most things.\u00a0 More often there are four of five laws against it.<\/p>\n
Why is the government in the sex and drug and gambling businesses?\u00a0 The simple answer is for the taxes, but that is the lie. \u00a0History shows that we the people did not want others to enjoy sex and drugs and gambling for various reasons and we asked the government to curtail such activity thankyouverymuch.\u00a0 And lawmakers and lawyers were happy to oblige since that is the justice industry in the USA.<\/p>\n
Simplifyandrepeal advocates revoking any law that has not been invoked in over five years.\u00a0 If no one breaks the law we don’t need the law.<\/p>\n
All laws that have not been invoked in over five years,\u00a0Redundant laws,\u00a0Unenforceable laws<\/p>\n
Simplify laws to allow justice into the justice system. \u00a0Encourage competent people to defend themselves. \u00a0Supply a government service where people can pay for legal advice from a non-lawyer government employee.<\/p>\n
Repeal of laws involving victimless crimes. \u00a0If we cause damage to others that should be addressed.<\/p>\n
Empty our prisons of all but violent offenders. \u00a0Allow non-violent offenders other cheaper options to pay their “debt to society”.<\/p>\n
Prohibit tax money to advertise laws<\/p>\n
